Four weeks travelling as a child to Australia by ship back in the 1970s, could not but help develop a deep love for ships and the sea, especially passenger liners. Two more 5 week trips back and forth only compounded it. Ever since, I have been looking for somewhere to share photos from such voyages, and many more, with others who would also appreciate them.
I have always wanted to be able to see other peoples photos from the same voyages I was on. So decided to write a website where we can share our photos based on the voyages we took them on. Click on the main page 'Ship Voyages'.
A love of passenger liners not only includes the classic ocean liners of the past, with their sleek elegant lines, but also includes modern day cruise ships that have today brought an explosion of new ships being built and people loving cruising and the sea. Voyages go well beyond just liners though, there are crews making voyages on cargo ships, serving members of navies around the world, and people sailing all sorts of wind powered craft. Today we also use ferries more than ever, drive on, walk on, many of which are are similar in size to small passenger liners complete with cabins, and are enjoyable voyages in their own right. There are other voyages we make as well, on steam powered pleasure boats, paddle steamers, canal barges and many more.
Sometimes we just want to see great photos of a particular ship, maybe not from a voyage we were on, but just great photos. So we added the 'Ship Gallery' where we can add great ship phops by ship.
